the Path of the Spirit- Meditation & Reflection

A Spirituality based upon Meditation and Individual Study

The Dragon & Oak zen Druid Meditation Challenge

One of the practical aspects of modern Druidry is the mystic path, the use of meditation and other spiritual / philosophical tools to gain insight into our self and our connection to life, the earth, and the universe. As important as meditation is to our practice, the rigours of modern life often distract us from our goals. This challenge is designed to assist us in incorporating meditation into our daily lives. This solar cycle challenge will be "challenging", but it is not intended to be overwhelming. The purpose of the Dragon & Oak Sit is to deepen our meditation practice, to help us learn how to be flexible and committed.

The Meditation challenge will kick off on Alban Eiler and officially end Alban Heruin, a length of approximately 90 days. The participants will spend 20 minutes a day meditating, will commit to read and reflect on the weekly meditation blog, will commit to reading and using Jack Kornfield's Meditation for Beginners* and to participate as able in the meditation forums discussing personal reflections and questions generated by the challenge process and insights gained from the reading text. From this challenge, we will begin to craft the meditation training class for new aspirants.
